How to start.

  1. Create a project: Look at it as a board, a list or a sprint.
  2. Connect your repository: GitHub, GitLab, Forgejo or Gitea: branches and pull requests show up on the card.
  3. Import your issues: Export a CSV from Linear and import it: statuses become lists, sub-issues a checklist, and ENG-12 becomes card 12.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my issues from Linear?

Yes. Export your issues as CSV and import the file: statuses become lists, labels and priorities come along, sub-issues become a checklist and the numbers are kept. Cycles do not come along.

Does devbord have sprints?

Yes. There is a sprint view, and the API and the MCP server can start, fill and close a sprint.

Can my AI assistant join in?

Yes. devbord has an MCP server: connect Claude, Cursor or another assistant with an API key, and it reads boards, creates and edits cards and looks at error issues, with the permissions of that key.

What does Linear do better?

Linear is a specialised issue tracker and goes deeper there, with cycles and triage. devbord is broader: the error, the hours and the conversation all hang on the same card.
